COOKOUT with Forge project

COOKOUT with Forge project

Saturday August 24, from 3 to 7 PM, Upstate Color, a BIPOC community cultivating a sense of belonging with one another and Upstate New York surroundings, is working with Forge Project to co-host our second collaboration: Cookout with Forge Project!

We will provide beverages and a few dishes but, in true cookout fashion, we want to taste everyone’s summertime specialties! We’ll have the grill fired up for anything needing a good char, space in our refrigerator and freezer for items needing to be chilled, and coolers on the back deck.

Please bring a dish to share, blanket or folding chair to lounge on the lawn, and a towel and swimsuit to enjoy our saltwater pool. There will be a lifeguard onsite and all guests who would like to use the pool are required to sign liability waivers. This is a family friendly event, but minors must be accompanied by a parent or trusted guardian at all times.

Forge Project charges a sliding scale fee for events, 50% of which is donated directly to Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans towards their new cultural center, in recognition of our responsibility to homeland communities.

As this is a community gathering, we are eliminating the sliding scale fee but recommend direct donations in the amount of your choosing to the Cultural Affairs Department at the Stockbridge-Munsee Community.

This event is for BIPOC community members only and will be capped at a capacity of 50 guests.

RSVP HERE! pw: upco

Address and complete driving directions shared upon rsvp.

4th of July Cookout

Since July’s Happy Hour landed on the 4th, we decided to shake things up with something special

Hudson’s very own Larry Walker of @lwwhatsreallygood (who you might recognize from @waterfrontwednesdays ..!) is hosting his annual Fourth of July BBQ and you’re invited.

As a staple in the Hudson community— and in classic Unc fashion— Larry throws a barbecue every year simply because he wants to make sure everybody has somewhere to be on the 4th. We are so excited and grateful that he has extended an invitation to the members of the UPCO community. If you’re looking for delicious home grilling, music to groove to, and great vibes— join us in Hudson at Charles Williams Park. The function starts at 5PM, and we’ll be around ‘till after the sun goes down

While Larry is extremely generous and takes care of everybody, we ask that you **PLEASE** bring drinks, something for the grill, a dish or side (especially the vegetarian/vegan homies!!), and if you’re able, some to help cover the free fire southern BBQ Larry will be grilling up.

We can’t wait! See you next week?! Let us know if you’ll be there on our Whatsapp or Instagram.

UPCO X NYBC BLOOD DRIVE

Let’s save lives! Spread the word

Our goal is 50+ donations. Can we count on you? Schedule your time slot NOW via this LINK

FACT: One in 3 African American blood donors is a match for a patient with sickle cell disease.

FACT: More than 100,000 individuals in the U.S. suffer from sickle cell disease – an enduring and often invisible condition. The disease disproportionately affects individuals of African descent, many of whom rely on routine blood transfusions as an essential treatment to prevent life-threatening complications.

FACT: Antigens are a substance on red blood cells that help determine blood type. There are more than 600 known antigens, and some are unique to specific racial and ethnic groups.

FACT: Every two seconds someone needs blood. Without your support and that of other volunteer blood donors, this lifesaving gift would not be available.

Donating blood takes about one hour, including a mini-physical and health interview. The actual donation time is typically only 10-15 minutes. After testing and processing, your donation is ready to ship to hospitals to help save lives in our community.

Join Upstate Color x Harana Market in collaboration with New York Blood Center at Harana Market in Accord, NY for a Blood Drive.
